NLECTC West Mission

The mission of the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center Western Region (NLECTC-West), in concert with the National Institute of Justice Office of Science and Technology (NIJ/OST), is to research, review, develop, and implement innovative technology for both regional and National law enforcement and corrections services with the objective of providing better police and corrections services, safeguarding constitutional guarantees, increasing safety and ethical performance of law enforcement and correctional officers, and assuring a more efficient and cost effective delivery of vital services to the citizens of the Western Region (Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington) and the United States of America.

NLECTC-West wants to put needed, affordable, and workable technology into the hands of front line law enforcement and corrections officers so they can do a better job of protecting our citizens.
